Aakash came into market by the combined effort of Data wind an london based company and IIT Rajasthan. This was sold to government of india for approx RS. 1500 but the orginal price is around 3000. It was launched at new delhi on October 5th 2011 and got a very grand response.

As a mobile freak i'm waiting for the release of Aakash 2 the sources says that aakash 2 will be advance version of Aakash which has upgration like 1Ghz and much more. It is released mainly for the interest of developing students and it has been really a dream of seeing and operating a Tablet for a while for many people but now its not the case 2k is very much spendable to own our tablet with two hands full. Really Kudos to Aakash team for making this dramatic change and helping the students and others with their awesome product.
